Tropical Storm Julia Forms Along Florida’s Northeast Coast

Tropical Storm Julia has formed along Florida’s Northeast Coast just south of Jacksonville, Florida.

As of the 11:00PM EDT advisory tropical storm Julia had maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per-hour, a minimum central pressure of 1009 millibars, and was moving to the north-northwest at 9 miles per-hour.

Watches and warnings

As of 11:00PM EDT a tropical storm warning was in effect from Ponte Verda Beach, Florida to Altamaha Sound, Georgia.

Forecast track

Tropical storm Julia will remain inland, drifting generally northward across Northern Florida and Southern Georgia over the next several days.

Intensity forecast

Since Julia will remain inland, and strengthening is not likely. Julia should weaken to a tropical depression sometime tomorrow.

Impacts

Tropical Storm Julia will bring 3 – 6″ of rain, flash flooding, and gusty winds to parts of Northern Florida and Southern Georgia over the next several days.
