Significant Cool Down, Wet Weather Likely Across Gulf Coast Late Week

A significant cool down is likely across the Gulf Coast region late this week into this weekend; as a strong front, most likely the strongest one of the season thus far, will sweep across the Gulf Coast region Wednesday through Friday.

TIMING: The front will sweep across Texas and Louisiana Wednesday, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle Thursday, and the Florida Peninsula Friday.

TEMPERATURES: Temperatures will drop 5 to 15 degrees across the Gulf Coast region behind the front, with low temperatures dipping into the upper 40s to lower 50s across Northern Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama Friday night through Saturday night, with high temperatures in the mid to upper 60s Thursday through Sunday.

Meanwhile, low temperatures will dip into the low to mid 50s across Southern Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle Friday night through Saturday night, and into the upper 50s to upper 60s across the Florida Peninsula Saturday night.

High temperatures in the 70s to low 80s  across Southern Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle Thursday through Sunday, with mid 80s to lower 90s across the Florida Peninsula Friday through Sunday.

WET WEATHER: Showers and storms will likely occur across the Gulf Coast region ahead of the front across the Gulf Coast region it moves through. However, severe weather is not anticipated at this time.
