Isolated Severe Storms Possible Across Texas, Louisiana This Afternoon

Isolated severe strong to severe storms will be possible across portions of Texas and Louisiana this afternoon.

A cold front, currently located over North Texas, is going to push east across Texas and Louisiana this afternoon. A line of storms will develop ahead of the front as it progresses east; and it will move across Texas and Louisiana in tandem with the front this afternoon.

Storm Prediction Center convective outlook for 11/18/16

Some storms associated with the line of storms could become briefly strong to severe, as convective avaliable potential energy (CAPE) will be between 1,000 and 2,500 j/kg. But the overall severe weather threat is low.

The primary threats from any strong to severe storms this afternoon will be damaging winds gusts and prolific lightning.
