A Warm, Mostly dry Christmas Weekend Ahead for Gulf Coast

A ridge of high pressure, currently settled over the Southern tier of the United States, will cause a warm and dry Christmas weekend for the Gulf Coast Region.

Tomorrow: High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s to the mid 70s across the region. The weather will also be dry. However, some isolated rain showers will be possible across Eastern Texas.

Sunday: High temperatures will once again range from the mid to upper 60s to the mid to upper 70s across the region. The weather will be dry for most of the region again as well; but there will be the potential for some rain showers over Louisiana and East Texas.

Long range: Looking towards late next week and next weekend, there are indications that a cold front will sweep across the region, potentially bringing rain and much colder weather with it. It is too early to say much more at this time, though.

We will have another update out sometime early next week.
