Rain, Storms to Return late this Weekend into Early next week

Storms will return to the Gulf Coast Region late this weekend into next week. Additionally, an Arctic cold front is set to sweep across the region Thursday, bringing a shot of cold air with it.

Fog: Another foggy morning is on tap across tomorrow across the region, with dense fog advisories already in place.

Arctic front: The front will make it’s passage across the region on Thursday, bringing cold, dry air behind it. Some rain will be likely along and ahead of the front. However, wide-spread, heavy rain is unlikely.

Low temperatures Thursday night will range from the low to mid 30s to low to mid 40s behind the front, with high temperatures ranging from the low to mid 50s to low to mid 60s Friday.

Similar temperatures are likely through Friday night. High temperatures will moderate and range from the upper 50s  to lower 70s on Saturday.

Rain and storms: A strong low pressure system is expected to develop across the Southern Plains or Gulf Coast Region late this weekend; bringing wide-spread, heavy rainfall and storms to the region from Saturday night into early to mid week next week.

It is too early for to discuss any in depth details. But, at least at this time, it looks like there will be some potential for strong to severe storms.

And as for rainfall amounts, 1 – 3″ of rain appears likely across much of the region late this weekend through late next week.
