Severe Weather Event to Unfold Across Parts of the Region Tonight

Another round of strong to severe storms, in the form of several “clusters,” is expected across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle tonight into tomorrow morning.

Placement: The greatest threat for severe storms will be across parts of West/Central Mississippi Northeast Louisiana, Southern Alabama, and the Western Florida Panhandle, where there is a “moderate” risk for severe weather. However, there is still a decent threat for severe storms in the “enhanced” risk area shown in the graphic above as well.
HRRR simulated radar valid at 9:00pm CST tonight
Timing: Storms will develop across Southern Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, over the Gulf, just South of the Florida Panhandle, and work their way north through overnight into tomorrow morning.
Threats: All modes of severe weather (hail, damaging winds, tornadoes) will be possible tonight. Although, large, damaging hail and strong tornadoes will be the main threats.
