Severe Weather Possible Today; Large Hail, Damaging Winds Main Threats

Strong to severe storms remain possible across parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle today.

Timing

Storms will develop over Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi this morning, and spread east and northeast, across Southern Alabama and the Florida Panhandle; possibly merging into a line segment.

Additional storms will develop across North/Central Mississippi late this morning or early this afternoon, and push east into Alabama mid to late this afternoon through this evening.

The highest risk for severe weather will be across Southeast Louisiana and Southern Alabama and Mississippi, where there is an “enhanced” risk of severe weather; and across Eastern Louisiana, all of Mississippi and Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle, where there is a “slight” risk for severe weather.

The greatest threats will be large, damaging hail, damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and heavy rainfall.
