Brief Tropical Update: Monitoring Two Systems With A Decent Chance of Development

We are now monitoring two systems for potential tropical development; both with a decent chance of developing.

System One

The first system is the disorganized area of disturbed weather in the Northwestern Caribbean Sea.

The odds of it developing in the Southern Gulf of Mexico this weekend into early next week, near the Yucatan Peninsula, continue to increase. Most of the global model guidance continues to forecast development.

As of their 2pm EDT tropical weather outlook, the National Hurricane Center gave it a 60% chance of developing over the next 5 days.

If it does develop, it is still to early too speculate on where it might track, with the models remaining all over the place.

System Two

The second system is a tropical wave way out in the Eastern Atlantic, which was designated invest 92-L this morning.

It has a 50% chance of developing over the next 5 days, and will track towards the Caribbean. Some of the reliable global model guidance is forecasting development. However, it is not anything to be concerned about at this time.

Nonetheless, we will continue to monitor it.
