Tropical Update: Cindy Expected to Make Landfall Overnight Tonight

Latest Advisory: As of the 10pm CDT advisory Tropical Storm Cindy was located over the Northwest Gulf of Mexico, just south of Louisiana – Texas boarder. Maximum sustained winds were 50mph, with a minimum central pressure of 992 millibars.

Tropical Storm Warning: Tropical Storm warnings remain in effect from just East of Houston, Texas to Grand Isle, Louisiana.

Timing, Track and Impacts: Cindy is expected to make landfall tonight near the Louisiana – Texas boarder. Impacts from Cindy will continue to be felt across much of the Northern Gulf Coast into tomorrow. This includes the potential for tornadoes, heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and rough surf, and 1 – 3′ of surge and tropical storm force winds in the tropical storm warned areas.
