Heavy Rainfall Likely Across Parts of the Region Today, Tomorrow; Flash Flooding Possible

A  trough of low pressure draped across the Central Gulf Coast Region — combined with moisture from the Gulf of Mexico — will lead to multiple rounds of storms across Southern Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and parts of the Florida Panhandle today and into tomorrow.

Widespread rainfall accumulations of 1 – 3″ are likely, with isolated accumulations of  5 – 7″ possible.

Flash flooding will be possible in areas that receive heavier rainfall; a flash flood watch has been issued for Southeast Louisiana and parts of Southern Mississippi through tomorrow evening.
