Tropical Depression Eight has Formed in the Western Atlantic

Invest 99L has finally developed into a tropical cyclone and has been upgraded to Tropical Depression Eight (TD 8).

Latest Advisory Information: As of the 11pm EDT advisory TD 8 was located just east of the Bahamas, moving north-northwest at 13mph, with maximum sustained winds of 35mph, and a minimum central pressure of  1001 millibars.

Forecast for Tropical Depression Eight: TD 8 is forecast to become Tropical Storm Gert tomorrow, and possibly the second hurricane of the 2017 Atlantic Hurricane Season. However, there is no threat to the U.S. at this time, as TD 8 will be pulled out to sea by a trough of low pressure currently draped over the East Coast.
