Frigid Temperatures Tonight, Tomorrow Morning; Freeze Warning in Effect

The cold front (discussed in our previous update) swept east overnight; much drier, colder air is now settling in its wake, meaning a frigid night is in store tonight, and a frigid morning tomorrow morning.

As a result, temperatures will dip well 8-10 degrees (Fahrenheit) below average tonight into tomorrow morning for most of the region ( all of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Northern Florida, including the Panhandle).

A freeze warning is in effect for most of Alabama and a small portion of Southeast Mississippi; it is valid tonight into tomorrow morning.

Low in the mid to upper 30s will across much of the North-Central Gulf Coast, including Northern Florida and East Texas.

Meanwhile, lows at or below freezing are likely across much of Alabama and Mississippi – and potentially across portions of Northern Louisiana.
