Potential for Wintry Mix Tomorrow Night – Friday Night

There is some potential for wintry precipitation across Southeast Louisiana, South Mississippi, South and Central Alabama, and possible the far Western Florida Panhandle  between tomorrow night and Friday night.

Model guidance is indicating that cold air along the leading edge of an arctic air-mass  pushing in tomorrow night and Friday is going to overrun the back edge of some precipitation.

If this occurs (which appears likely as of now), it would cause a wintry mix of rain and some snow to fall across Southeast Louisiana Thursday night into Friday morning, and South Mississippi, South-Central Alabama, and possibly the Western Florida Panhandle during the day Friday into Friday night.

Aside from grassy surfaces (etc…), some slight accumulation to no accumulation (and therefore impacts) would be likely, as temperatures at the surface will be above freezing.

However, there is still some uncertainty. The precipitation exiting before the arctic air-mass pushes in could result in simply a cold rain.

We will have another update tomorrow morning, when we should know more.
