Storm System to Bring Rain Tomorrow, Friday; Turning Colder Friday

Today and tonight: Skies will be generally cloudy across the entire region, with a chance for a few isolated showers across the North-Central Gulf Coast, South Louisiana, and South and Central Mississippi and Alabama; clouds and isolated showers will persist overnight.

Temperatures have been running above average for the past day or two, and will continue to do so today. Afternoon highs will max out in the upper 70s to upper 60s along Texas Gulf Coast, North-Central Gulf Coast, with overnight lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

For Louisiana and South and Central Mississippi, highs will climb into the lower to mid 60s this afternoon, with overnight lows also in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Rain: A storm system, made up of several different features, is going to sweep across the lower Mississippi River Valley tomorrow and Friday.

NAM simulated radar valid at 3:00 PM CST tomorrow.

This will allow rain, and possibly a few thunderstorms, to return beginning tomorrow afternoon across the mid and upper Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana (including the Louisiana Gulf Coast), spreading east into Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle tomorrow night into Friday morning.

Rainfall accumulations will be light (generally less than half an inch, maybe slightly above for some locations).

Turning colder: The aforementioned storm system will have a front associated with it, which will move through Thursday night into Friday, and cause it to turn much colder this Friday through this weekend after its passage.
