Pleasant Weather Tomorrow, Friday; Rain Returns for the Weekend

Tonight through Friday: High pressure will dominate, resulting in mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions (depending on your location).

Tonight temperatures will drop into the 30s and 40s. Afternoon high temperatures will peak in the 60s to lower 70s both tomorrow and Friday. Tomorrow night, lows will range from the mid 50s to mid to upper 30s.

Moisture returns this weekend: A wave of surface low pressure is going to develop over the Gulf of Mexico Saturday, and slide off to the northeast, just south of the Northern Gulf Coast through the day Saturday through late Sunday. At the same time, a surface front will slide east.

GFS projected 6-hour precipitation rate and surface pressure from 12:00 AM CST Saturday through 12:00 PM Sunday.

The combination of the two will result in widespread precipitation (rain) working from west to east. Accumulations will generally be 1/2″ or less along the Texas Gulf Coast, with accumulations from 1/2″ – 2″ elsewhere.

Next week: Relatively dry conditions and seasonal to below seasonal temperatures will persist through midweek. Then, by late week an arctic front looks to move through, bringing frigid air and precipitation back into the picture.
