Rain Moving out of Louisiana; Will Continue to Push East Tonight

  • Louisiana and Southwest Mississippi: Rain is moving out of Louisiana and Southwest Mississippi, after producing accumulations of up to 3 – 7″ over the course of the day. 
  • Texas Gulf Coast: The bulk of the rain also moved moved away from the Texas Gulf Coast earlier this morning. However, Some scattered storms continue along the Texas Gulf Coast; they will clear out as the evening progresses.
 
  • Central Mississippi and the remainder of South Mississippi: Widespread moderate to heavy rain continues across parts of South and Central Mississippi south of I-20 and east of I-55. Rainfall totals will be between 1 – 2″, with some locally higher accumulations likely.
 
  • Southwest and West-Central Alabama: Rain is also beginning to work into Southwest Alabama, and continues across West-Central Alabama (west of I-65).
 
  • Western Florida Panhandle and remainder of South and Central Alabama: Rain will progress east into the remainder of Central and South Alabama (east of I-65) and the Western Florida Panhandle later tonight. Rainfall amounts will range from 1 – 2″, with some locally higher amounts in the 3 – 5″ range possible along and south of I-10. 
  • Timing: Rain will move into the Western Florida Panhandle and remainder of South and Central Alabama between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM/10:00 PM CST, and clear out throughout the day tomorrow. Across South and Central Mississippi, rain will come to an end gradually from west to east overnight into tomorrow morning.
