Another Wave of Heavy Rain, Isolated Strong to Severe Storms This Weekend

Another wave of heavy rain and isolated strong to severe storms is in store tomorrow and Sunday ahead of the next cold front.

Widespread storms will develop along the upper Texas Gulf Coast, across much of Louisiana, Central Mississippi, and portions of South Mississippi tonight, and continue through the day tomorrow.

Widespread storms will move into South and Central Alabama and the Western Florida Panhandle overnight tomorrow night, and continue through the day Sunday and into the overnight hours/early Monday morning.

Thunderstorms will also remain likely across Southeast Louisiana and South and Central Mississippi through Sunday night/early Monday.

Strong to severe storms: There is a low-end “marginal” risk for some isolated strong to severe storms across Southeast Louisiana, South Mississippi, Southwest Alabama, and the Western Florida Panhandle tomorrow.

Severe weather outlook for tomorrow.

The main threat with any storms that manage to become strong/severe will be damaging wind gusts. Though, a few brief, isolated tornadoes will be possible.

Heavy rainfall: Periods of heavy rainfall will occur both overnight/tomorrow and tomorrow night/Sunday.

Rainfall totals will generally range from 1 – 3″ through Sunday. There will be some potential for localized flooding in areas that receive heavier rainfall.
