Potential for Some Strong to Severe Storms Today and Tomorrow

An area of lo pressure currently over Texas is going to swing east this afternoon through tomorrow, resulting in showers and storms.

Scattered showers and storms are going to develop across much of Louisiana and South and Central Mississippi later this morning into this afternoon. A complex/line of storms will also develop across Arkansas and Northern Mississippi tonight, and push south into far Northeast Louisiana and Central Mississippi and Alabama before weakening tomorrow morning.

Some isolated strong to severe storms will be possible. The Storm Prediction Center has hatched a “slight” risk of severe weather for Northeast Louisiana and West Central Mississippi, with a “marginal” risk for Central Louisiana and the remainder of Central Mississippi.

Severe weather outlook for today and tonight.

The primary threat will damaging winds, though an isolated tornado or two and some large hail can’t be ruled out.

Tomorrow morning through tomorrow afternoon, showers and thunderstorms will develop across South Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, and the Western Florida Panhandle.

Isolated strong to severe storms will once again be possible. The Storm Prediction Center has hatched a “marginal” risk area.

Just as with storms today, the primary threat will be damaging winds, but an isolated tornado or two and some large hail can’t be ruled out.
