Threat for Severe Weather Returns This Upcoming Week

Another severe weather threat is on the horizon for parts of Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi this upcoming week.

A storm system going to slide out of the Plains and across the Midwest Tuesday – Wednesday, and will bring an trailing cold front east across the South.

Thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the front as it advances to the east; some could be severe. The Storm Prediction Center has defined a 15% (equivalent to a “slight risk”)  risk area for East Texas, much of Louisiana, and far West Mississippi for Tuesday (see figure 1).

It is too early for details (overall magnitude of the threat, timing, potential threats, etc.).
