Fall-Like Weather Next Week?

If you are ready for more fall-like weather, good news: the first substantial cold front of the season looks to be just around the corner.

Model guidance is advertising an anomalous upper-level trough and front to drop into the Central and Eastern half of the country, including the Deep South/Gulf States, mid to late next week.

Should this come to fruition (which looks likely at this point), a much cooler air mass that would move in behind said front. Temps would dip to average-below average, as reflected in the latest 8 – 14 dat temp outlook from the Climate Prediction Center (see figure 1). Overnight/morning lows would potentially range in the 50s all the way down to the Central Gulf Coast.
