Tornado Rips Through Ruston, LA Overnight Killing Two

A tornado ripped through the town of Ruston, LA in Lincoln Parish overnight.

Extensive damage has been reported. There is a lot of structure damage. Trees and power utility lines/poles have also been downed.

Ronny Walker, the Mayor of Ruston, said that damage occurred throughout the city, but that most of the damage occurred along Tech Drive and in the subdivision of Cyprus Springs according to a report from the News Star.

The Louisiana Tech University (LTU) Ruston campus was also impacted. Classes have been cancelled for the day, according to the official LTU Twitter account.

Two deaths have been confirmed per a report from KTVE.

Based on doppler radar, the tornado hit around 1:50 AM CDT.
