Tropical Storm Barbara has formed in the Eastern Pacific.
Barbara is forecast to become a category 2 hurricane. However, it is possible Barbara could become a major hurricane (category 3 or greater).
There is no immediate threat to land.
Interests in/around the Hawaiian Islands after the first week of July should keep an eye on Invest #94E in the Eastern Pacific, especially given the unusually unfavorable base state and plethora of TCs that have hit or threatened the island chain the last several years. pic.twitter.com/nDAAu6eJ9q

However, it wouldn’t hurt for Hawaii to monitor the progress if Barbara over the coming days.
