Tropical Storm Imelda has Made Landfall Near Freeport, TX

Tropical Storm Imelda made landfall near Freeport, Texas at 1 PM CDT according to an Update Statement from the National Hurricane Center.

At the time of landfall, sustained winds were 40 mph, and the the minimum pressure was 1005 mb, which was recorded at a National Ocean Service observing site in Freeport.

Heavy rain and the threat for flash flooding will overspread southeast Texas as Imelda moves inland.
