Active Weather Expected Across South Next Week

A heavy rain event is looking likely across the Deep South next week.

Several disturbances moving tracking across the region combined with a quasi-stationary front should result in multiple rounds of heavy rain from Monday through Thursday.

The axis of heaviest rain is expected from east Texas to about north Georgia. With a large swath of 5 – 7″ of rain forecast, a flash flood threat will almost certainly evolve.

Severe weather is not expected. However, this could change.

Some, but not all, model guidance does suggest a risk for severe weather on Monday and again Wednesday into Thursday.
