Strong to Severe Storms Possible from Texas to Northwest Alabama Today

A few strong to severe storms will be possible across from Texas to northwest Alabama today.

The Storm Prediction Center has defined a slight (level 2 out of 5) risk for severe weather (see figure 1).

Any strong/severe storms will be most likely this afternoon and evening.

Damaging winds will be the primary threat. However, a tornado or two and some hail can’t be ruled out.

Furthermore, storms today are also likely to produce excessive rainfall, and flash flooding can be expected across northeast Louisiana, north Mississippi, and north Alabama.
