An outbreak of severe storms is likely this weekend.
Tomorrow
The Storm Prediction Center has included south-central Texas in an enhanced (level 3 out of 5) risk for severe weather. A slight (level 2 out of 5) risk for severe weather has also been delineated.
While storms will be possible throughout the day, the greatest threat will likely be tomorrow evening into the overnight/early Sunday.
These storms will pose a threat for all severe hazards (tornadoes, damaging winds, and hail).
Sunday
Of greater concern is Sunday, when model guidance is advertising highly favorable parameters for severe weather to be in place.
The Storm Prediction has defined a moderate (level 4 out of 5) risk for severe weather for parts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
An expansive enhanced risk area has also been outlined.
Tentative timing looks to be Sunday morning/afternoon for Louisiana and Mississippi, and Sunday night into early Monday for Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.
As of now, long-track supercells are looking possible. Additionally, upscale growth into/development of a squall line appears probable at some point.
Some uncertainty remains. However, there will likely be potential for strong/violent tornadoes and widespread damaging winds.
