Yet Another Severe Weather Event Expected Tomorrow, Thursday

A storm system tacking out of the southern Plains and into the Mississippi River Valley tomorrow will result in yet another severe weather event across the South and Southeast.

Tomorrow

Storms are initially expected to develop across east Texas by tomorrow afternoon along/ahead of a dryline, and then shift into Louisiana and Mississippi by tomorrow evening/night.

A level 3 (out of 5) risk for severe weather is currently in place for parts of east Texas and northwest Louisiana.

There is also both a level 2 risk for severe weather in place for the remainder of east Texas,  part of Louisiana, and a portion of Mississippi with a level 1 risk encompassing it.

Damaging winds and large hail will most likely be the primary hazards. However, a conditional tornado threat will also exist.

Thursday

The threat will shift into the Southeast, including southeast Louisiana and Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle, where the Storm prediction Center has defined a level 3 risk for severe weather.

All modes of severe weather will be likely. Additionally, while exact details have yet to be ironed out, it does look like there will be potential for tornadic supercells.
