Laura Made Landfall Near Cameron, LA Early This Morning; Now Moving Inalnd

Laura made landfall near Cameron, LA at approximately 1 AM CDT this morning as a category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph. This was just below category 5 strength.

Laura is was still a category 2 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph as of the 7 AM CDT advisory, and is heading north across west-central Louisiana.

By this afternoon Laura move into southern Arkansas this afternoon. Hurricane-force winds have, and will continue, to spread inland across east Texas and western Louisiana this morning into this afternoon along with heavy rain and the potential for flash flooding.
