Strong to Severe Storms Possible Tomorrow Morning

Nice weather will persist today. High temperatures will range from the low to mid 80s. However, the nice weather experienced this weekend will come to an end tonight/early Monday.

A shortwave/impulse (disturbance) is expected to track across Alabama and Mississippi tonight/early tomorrow morning. This will likely trigger an area of showers/thunderstorms across Louisiana and Mississippi tonight.

These showers/storms will track east/southeast, likely reaching the area tomorrow.

There is some uncertainty regarding exact timing due to model discrepancy. The HRRR shows storms arriving by around 7 AM CDT, while the NAM doesn’t bring any activity into the area until around 2 – 3 PM CDT.

A few strong/severe storms will be possible. The Storm Prediction Prediction Center has included the entire area in a marginal (level 1 out of 5) risk for severe weather.

Strong/damaging winds and hail will be the primary threats with any strong/severe storms. Heavy rain will also be possible.

More storms will be possible Tuesday. The Storm Prediction Center has once again included the area in a marginal risk for severe weather.
